For the safety of those who are serving, as well as those who will be served – it is the policy of Locking Arms to complete background checks on all volunteers (something also required by our liability insurance company.)  We selected "Verified Volunteers" to complete our background checks as they make the process simplest AND are incredibly thorough.  Here's how it works:

You will receive a customized link via email from Locking Arms.

Use the link to navigate to the "Verified Volunteer" website where you will be prompted to enter your name, address, date of birth & social security number.

VV Security & Privacy Concerns

You will be prompted to remit payment via credit or debit card.  The cost is $39.

Both you & Locking Arms will be notified once the background check is complete & ready for viewing.  Through their website you will retain access to your background check & have the ability to send it to another nonprofit that you might work with in the future!

A "CLEAR" status means you're approved.  A "CONSIDER" status might require additional review of your application.
