Cruise Wedding Packages: How to Save Money and Have a Memorable Cruise Wedding

Going on a cruise is not the traditional way of having a wedding, but it is one of the most cost effective. That is why more and more couples are looking into cruise wedding packages as a way to tie the knot. Not only do you get the venue and accommodations for the big day, there’s no need to shell out extra money for a honeymoon. This wonderful on-the-go trip basically takes care of everything for you.

One good thing about cruises is that there is a wide variety to choose from. You are not limited to certain destinations or price points. It’s fairly easy to find a cruise that is right for you. First think about all of the places you and your fiance are dying to go. Narrow down your search to only those cruise lines that will reach your desired destination. Then figure out a budget for your wedding/honeymoon. There are regular cruises as well as luxury cruises so go with one that you can afford. The price of cruise wedding packages will in large part depend on the type of cruise you choose.

When working out your budget for the cruise, it’s important to factor in all of the possible expenses. Think of the cruise itself as your honeymoon. Do not forget to include money you are probably going to spend on the excursions and shopping. Then there is the wedding itself. These cruise wedding packages will break down for you every detail that goes into one of these events. The packages will likely include the wedding cake, decorations, catering, etc.

Some destinations are only available during specific times of the year. You might have to set a date for your wedding based on where you plan on going. The best part about a cruise is that they can take you just abut anywhere in the world. However, depending on where you plan on going, you and your guests will have to first travel to the port where the ship leaves from. Out of convenience for your wedding guests, it might be best to select a cruise route that is closer to home.

There are usually two types of cruise wedding packages on most cruise lines. The first one is often referred to as a shipboard wedding in the industry. This type of wedding occurs at the port-of-call, before the cruise ship actually sets sail. This way your wedding guests can attend the wedding without actually having to go on the cruise. The other type is more of a destination wedding. You and your guests will go on the cruise together and the actual ceremony can be performed at one of the destinations. For this option, you will need the cruise to be able to accommodate a large number of people.

The best way of knowing which cruise package is right for you is to do your research. All of these cruise lines will have fancy brochures trying to sell you on how great their wedding packages are. To get the real details, you have to find out from couples who have experienced it before. Go online and see if you can find any reviews before making your final decision.
