mobilizing people & financial resources to care for the world's impoverished

"We make a

living by what

we get.  We make

a life by

what we give."

– Winston Churchill –

As shared on Our Mission page, Locking Arms has chosen to work

with organizations and individuals already working in

impoverished regions worldwide.  There is no need to

"reinvent the wheel" when there are amazing people and

organizations already doing a great work.  We see our role

as an extension of those works – using our various

connections to involve a greater number of people in what

they are doing.  Forged over years of partnership we work

with individuals and organizations that we trust and who have

demonstrated a sustainable work and impeccable stewardship of

financial resources.  But, as you can imagine, there are never enough

funds to see to the vast needs of those they serve.

As our partners make us aware of specific needs  we, in turn, share the needs with those who might be able to help.   Many of the projects represent a "bricks & mortar" response

– the construction of schools, churches, housing, or perhaps a medical clinic.  Others represent infrastructure investments – roads and wells.  Personnel needs are often among the requests – funds to hire teachers, doctors, pastors and social workers.   An increasing need exists for microfinance investments – helping men & women start businesses of their own to care for the needs of their families.  And then there are investments of a more personal nature – food, shoes, clothing, medicines and more.
